Okay… so this is pretty much your basic elementary comix page… er panel… Well, we all saw it coming, didn’t we?
A bit of explanation is due here, Y’see originally these intro pages were Not meant to be read individually, but rather in two sections – the initial 8 page segment followed by a 5 page segment – after which the main story commences… Once we get into the story as such, the pages are rather more structured to stand alone, while advancing the story (such as it is) a bit with each installment…
However, with this site, almost immediately, we got into problems, for a number of people, their browsers were stalling out at 5 pages without displaying all 8 of the initial upload (this probably has something to do with how I uploaded the pages, I started with only the first five, while setting up comic press, after which I replaced those 5 pages with larger versions and added pages 6 through 8) Exactly why this should be a problem, I’m still not certain (I’m pretty much a wordpress novice) This stalling on page 5 seems intermittent, as relaunching the browser sometimes clears it up…
What this brings us around to is: I worried that uploading another 5 pages in one lump might cause more problems – It seemed more prudent to take things a bit at a time with daily uploads of single pages… Also, as it turns out, there’s a certain synchronicity betwixt our story and the current countdown to Mayan Calendar Doom… (We didn’t exactly plan it that way) but it will become clearer as the story unfolds… Continuing daily uploads until the 21st will also get us into the story a bit quicker, so for you readers, it is a bit of a bonus overall (If you will excuse pages like this one)…
So that’s my story – an’ I’m stickin’ to it! JQ
