Here we are on the day before, “Thanksgiving,” Though seemingly Bunz & Katz have very little to be thankful for – they’re ambushed, cornered and trapped, by Slime Drooling, Brain Sucking Zombie Dudes… Also with apologies to Harvey Kurtzman, (or anyone else in the immediate vicinity) for the final panel of this comix fiasco… Could this be the end for our dimorphous duo?!? Find out in our next installment, as we cook up some Zombie Gumbo!
I wouldn’t know about the Simpsons, haven’t watched the show in years, and maybe then only a half dozen episodes… But it is a classic sort of “Take”, with the menace standing behind the protagonists and they only belatedly realizing it when they turn around… We must’ve seen this sort of thing in a hundred old movies or TV adventures…
Yes the TV seems to be showing a Bronco Bunny cartoon – I’d thought that someone might ask how this is possible as it’s clearly unplugged… But I figure that in repairing the TV, Katz must’ve made a few improvements…
Hokay, I see what you mean – though the extended tongue or eyeballs etc is a cartoon trope that goes waaaaaaay back, at least to the cartoons of Tex Avery & Bob Clampett in the 30s & 40s… though possibly is much older…
For those of you who may have been wondering about the “Melvin” reference… There’s a certain similarity between this page’s final panel and the cover of Mad Comics #1 designed and illustrated by Harvey Kurtzman – the writer and editor of probably the most hilarious humor comic ever created – as well as two of the best war comics, “Two Fisted Tales” & “Frontline Combat”…
Anyone looking for a recycled December DeskTop Calendar, just click the pix for the link to the download page…
And Lo, in those days of legend, three wise Magi journeyed from out of the east in search of this month’s recycled desktop calendar, which seems to be about the Xmas Story (abridged)… You recall the one about the Shepherds an’ Sheep, a manger, Angels an’ three guys bearing gifts of frankfurters, muscatel and donuts… So… if you were wondering “Where’s Santa, an’ the Reindeer, an’ when does the Nutcracker come in?” Ahh… you’re not really with it – are you?

The best KIND of Zombies!
Is this the last we’ll see of the high skool vamp tramp?
NOBODY expects the Japanese Vamptramp!
Actually response to the over-endowed Teen Trampire was somewhat less than I’d hoped… So any future appearances (if any) are somewhat in question…
Actually this picture shows a pretty good “end” for Renee!
Panel 2 has a typical scene from “The Simpsons ” , isn’t that Bronco Bunny on the flat-screen in the last 3 panels?

In a Simpsons episode, whenever someone is belching, screaming, or getting strangled, their tongue goes flapping out like Bunz’s did.

Harvey Kurtzman was a flushnuganer genius.
I read a book once on how to get published – with short articles by genuine magazine editors etc.
The MAD entry, written by William Gaines himself, basically read “Don’t bother. We reject 99% of all submissions.”
And do you blame him? The Usual Gang of Idiots was the finest troop of creators EVER in one publication or I’ll be very surprised.

How do I get a sheep like that for Xmas?
Money Sonny! I hear she charges by the trick…
