As here we are in Baseball season – seemed perhaps an opportune time to take a break from our story continuity, such as it is, for a brief interlude celebrating America’s favorite passtime — Yes, Sports betting pools — though Baseball is okay too…
Speaking of which, if you haven’t heard Abbot & Costello’s: “Who’s on first?” skit, I recommend that you sashay on over to youtube and take a listen (There’s several different versions of it there – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MdV6bR_qbk – is a good one) It’s gotta be one of the funniest skits ever recorded – I don’t know how many times I’ve listened to this, and I still laugh every time!
As for Bunz an’ Katz… Well they may not be quite as funny – but they try… Not try harder – more like, Hardly try… So now, let’s all stuff our mouths full of peanuts an’ soda pop, then sing together, “Take me out to the Ball Game” (Note: Don’t try this indoors!)…
Also note: Special thanx to Walt, who helped piece together this Baseball bit… (He shares the Blame!)
For whatever it’s worth, the Shortstop’s name varies in different versions of the skit… At times it was: “I don’t care”, or “I don’t give a darn” – “I don’t give a damn!” was a wartime version used while Abbot & Costello were entertaining the troops, who enjoyed their humor a bit rowdier…
Note that the version I’d linked to, is also a bit shortened from some others, they cut out a section where for a while, Costello thinks that one of the players name may be “Naturally”… Here’s a link to a longer version, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avPB_7TmM9Y from the film “The Naughty Nineties”…

Watson(a) name, as in what’s in a name. A puny joke I admit.
I. Dontgivvadam was considerably worse… but Abbot and Costello managed to carry it off.

The skit has been reworked many times – here’s a fun revisiting of it with Billy Crystal, Jimmy Fallon & Jerry Seinfeld: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0Jg7pvVzKk
