SpaceGophers Pg3
Page #3: This may or may not be of interest, but Al & Al were loosely based upon and named after an old high skool friend, who became a rather better truck driver than the Gopher delivery service… Al’s voice sounded a lot like, Jim Jordan, of the old-time radio show, “Fibber McGee and Molly,” which is how I hear the Gopher’s voices in my head…
This may be somewhat interesting – Though I don’t recall doing so deliberately, (then again, I don’t recall what I was thinkin’ about when drawing this pix either)…
a couple of decades later I sketched out a duplicate of the 5th panel with the Kitty Pandora…
I see your photon blade and I raise you a bazooka!
Does it take a bazooka to take out a gopher? Maybe they just want to make sure.
The Gophers seem to spend half their time cadging free drinks and the other half running for their lives….
Pretty sure that’s Cutey and Tubbins making a cameo in the upper right hand panel. (Rabbit radar strikes again!)
Not just Cutey and Tubbins, Bill. I’m pretty sure that’s Krizz and Cap’n Connie-O of the Decatur on the right side of the same panel.
