Ahhh the good old days. 1929, when even the gangstas were dapper. Of course anyone who has ever been to Chicago in February knows that hats and coats are not exactly optional. The whole bit made me want to go back and look at The Untouchables again. You know – I could only find one scene in the whole flick where anybody’s wearing pinstripes. And Armani did the costuming! So this makes Bunz a time-travelling alien with fashion sense.
Bravo.
Aw gee… Our cute li’l maniacal planet-destroying aliens try, just once, to get into the fun an’ frolic of a Dirtian holiday, and what does it get them? Rejection an’ grief! It’s enuf to make one weep…
I wonder who Bunz and Katz would rather not run into:
Eliot Ness of the era that they are visiting. Known for boldly taking on rum runners and gangsters with his crew of ATF agents called “The Untouchables”. And who would enjoy giving press exposure to the aliens and their invasion intentions. And building a case against the invaders for any potential violations of tax evasion over their desired looting of the planet.
Or Mulder and Skully, FBI agents who work on cases hidden in J. Edger Hover’s famous “X-Files”. The man had files on everyone. Mulder and Skully would no doubt open a file on our heroes/villains. Would Bunz and Katz be interested in its contents? Would they file a “freedom of information” inquiry to check that their reputations were not being abused?
As a bit of a preview for our next B&K Comix – Has Bunz gone rural? Is she getting back to the land – or could her Overalls be part of a new devious plot of mind boggling ineptitude??
How-some-ever, one “Clue” as to Continuity – If the page is numbered, then it’s more or less part of B&K’s nominal Continuity… If it isn’t numbered, then it’s more than likely an insert filler piece, for something Topical or a Holiday or the like…
Like Ferinstance, the “Li’l Orphink Alien” pages are unnumbered – They’re just included for a bit of goofy fun… Or if you never enjoyed reading Orphan Annie, then they’re just included to Tweek you off…
Or, Once upon a time – waaayy back in Ninteen Twenty Nine…
“Come on, oh baby don’t you wanna go / Come on, oh baby don’t you wanna go / Back to that same old place, Sweet Home Chicago…”

One of the killers was a scratch golfer. He tried to turn pro, but the cops dogged him at every tournament…. 🙁

Carl Kolchak. But then, since nobody ever believed him…

Only time, or our next strip may tell…
It’s gotten *real* hard to follow the continuity on this strip—such as it is.
Hey, it’s all *FREE* Gang..!

Getting harder to tell—it’s been, like, since November…
