As we post our Pop Art Space Tart page tonight, I myself am facing a personal crisis… Namely, will Prez Chump revoke my security clearance in petty revenge? Y’see, it seems the main criteria for revoking a security clearance these days, has become politics and his Enemies List rather than national security…
Yes, unlikely as it may seem, during my time in the Corps I did hold a Secret security clearance – basically to enable those of us in the Com-Nav Shop to handle and set the codes for a voice scrambler device (who’s name was also secret) In fact the device was so secret that it was never actually installed on any of the planes in any squadron that I served in… And while it also is true, that my security clearance expired along with my enlistment – this doesn’t negate the possibly of Chump re-revoking it in petty spite – I mean, he’s done even stupider things…
So, as he thumbs through his Enemies List tonight looking for someone else to strike out at – somewhere near the bottom of a very very – very looooooong scroll, may be my name… Will I be the next to be held in public derision and scorn? Maybe even the but of childish name calling? Ahh, but such things are only the dubious dreams of a neer-do-well cartoonist…
Heh, if you could manage to be “mentioned in tweets” your readership would increase off the scales. You could start selling advertising. But how? How to make it happen…
Meanwhile: Wait our two Kruddistanis are still using “komrad”? Must be a couple of unreconstructed holdouts from the 80’s. Probably still wistfully refer to the Iron Curtain and the good old days of Stalin. You know the world respected kruddistan back then. After all, isn’t that all Putin really wants is to make the Russian Empire great again?
But going by the picture they’re holding up I’m beginning to wonder if these two really have anything at all to do with our story. They’ll never find Bunz and Katz if that’s the description they’re working from. They’d be closer if they were looking for “the small, blond girl with the weird bow in her hair and her beachball with feet”.
And that brings me lastly to her other distinguishing feature. (No, not her lack of any real appreciable “topset”.) “The Orb”. It’s been awhile since we had an orb report but here we have an excellent view. We can plainly see that, at this point the orb has reached near full translucency. Other times the orb appears silvery bright and highly reflective. What is the significance? Does it’s level of translucency relate to it’s power and function. (Since we are still mostly unsure of it’s function it’s somewhat hard to tell.) And yet, there it is, maintaining it’s position without any kind of visible attachment or functioning mechanics. Could it be an optical illusion generated and projected by the “ears” and controlled by brain waves? An intriguing possibility. Inquiring minds still want to speculate endlessly.
To be controlled by brain waves, don’t you first need a brain? I’ve been getting the impression that Bunz is not overblessed in the smarts department. What say all?
Can’t argue. Wait a minute! That’s brilliant! The orb is translucent because there’s not much to power it up. The more vacuous she is the more transparent it becomes. It’s a meter of her thought processes… or lack thereof. I hereby grant you membership for life in the IBFOJWHTTTI. (International Brotherhood for Figuring Out Just What the Heck That Tail Thing Is) Membership is FREE and has no responsibilities other than endlessly talking about the ORB. (and no you cannot reject membership nor quit)((ever)).
Well, the varying transparency/translucency of the Orb is easily explained… whenever it is in a position to interfere with Fanservice, as here, its transparency increases… whenever Bunz is fully dressed or facing toward us, it becomes opaque.
There, see how simple that was?
And, as has been previously decided (by me), the Orb is a sort of hyperdimensional “pocket” for storing things not immediately needed… Such as that zap-gun, now with a dead battery, and a truly ancient can of the Negafleet equivalent of K-rations spaghetti and meatballs… Ugh, no wonder it hasn’t been touched in millennia… not even when B&K are reduced to dining on roof-rabbits flambe…
And this is why DW holds a chair in the Brotherhood. We don’t know why he won’t put the darn thing down and sit in it but it’s quite a nice chair and we’re all very proud of it.
Note* Obviously for the purposes of humor, our characters need to screw up repeatedly – to get themselves into farcical situations from which they needs be must extricate themselves… (Reference; the Gospel of SitComs, Chapter three, Verse two…)
So… while I wouldn’t consider Bunz as a “Dumb Blonde”, she is working with the disadvantage of a limited data base (sourced largely from Japanese Anime) that is mostly just wrong… As such, compared to Katz, she is going to come off second best in the IQ department… After all, he is a massively complex A.I. who also has access to all broadcast media as well as the internet – hence he is far more aware of what transpires around our planet, though he still struggles with understanding, as well as differentiating fact from fiction…
While I should have emphasized this more in the story, evolutionally their Alien culture did not develop the concept of fiction, so to Katz, “Leave it to Beaver” would seem just as factual as a Trump press conference… Come to think of it, “Leave it to Beaver” is just as Factual!!

Speak into the potato, Komrade…

And that’s why we call Bill a man outstanding in his field… ’cause that’s where we found him, out standing in his field…
I was looking for my chair.
